About Robert T. Bruegge, Attorney at Law

Robert T. Bruegge

A native of Breese, Ill., Robert T. Bruegge has practiced law in the Southwestern area of the state for more than 30 years. In addition, he serves as a panel trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Illinois.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in 1971 and a juris doctorate from the University of Houston in 1974. He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Illinois State and American Bar associations, State Bar of Texas, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and American Bankruptcy Institute. In addition, he has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois and U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit.

He is a past contributor to the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has also been active in the Illinois Bar Association as a member and past chairman of the General Practice Section Counsel and member of the Business Banking and Bankruptcy Law Section Counsel.

In the past, he as served as president of the Kaskaskia College Foundation, member of the Goshen Rotary board of directors, chairman of the Economic Development Commission for Edwardsville and Glen Carbon board of directors, member of the Cancer Support Center board of directors and member of the planning commission for the Village of Glen Carbon.

He and wife Victoria Bruegge reside in Glen Carbon, where they enjoy cooking, gardening and travel. Daughter Emily lives and manages an assisted living facility in Breese, while Laura resides in Columbia, Mo., working in public relations.
